KAREN FRISS

Karen joined the company in 1984 with a BA in economics and an MBA from UCLA.  Karen assumed the role of Senior Director, Global Public Policy, in 2001.


From 2005 to 2008, she had the added responsibility of creating the Global Pricing, Reimbursement, and Access capability and leading the development of payer value solutions across the portfolio.  In the policy role, Karen is responsible for leading the development of global policies specific to health care and health care systems around the world.

Prior to joining Corporate Affairs, Karen was Director, Corporate Finance and Investment Banking, where she was responsible for developing the corporate contingency plan for Prozac patent litigation; the plan was triggered on August 9, 2000, and implemented over the next two years.  Prior to that, she was CFO and procurement leader for Indianapolis biotechnology bulk manufacturing.  Her career has included assignments in information technology projects management, domestic and international finance, and corporate recruiting.

Karen has two children who are pursuing a Spanish immersion education.
