DAVID MAIN
Mr. Main is chair of the health care practice at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, LLP. Mr. Main concentrates on health care transactional work, including corporate formations; mergers and acquisitions (and attendant regulatory issues); re-structurings and reorganizations; financings; contractual arrangements; and regulatory, operational and litigation matters. His experience includes fraud and abuse, antitrust, and other regulatory compliance issues. He also concentrates on the formation and development of health technology and biotech/life sciences companies, as well as product distribution and intellectual property issues for medical devices and information technology companies. He is the founder and coordinator of the Healthcare Technology Network of Greater Washington (www.healthtechnet.org). He also advocates his clients' interests on Capitol Hill and before regulatory bodies, including the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and state health and insurance departments. Mr. Main has over 30 years experience representing clients in the health care industry. Before entering private practice, he was counsel to U.S. Senator Richard S. Schweiker and the U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Health and Scientific Research, where he was responsible for health insurance, managed care and hospital-related legislation. He was the primary author of the Health Maintenance Organization Act Amendments of 1978. Mr. Main is a frequent speaker on health care issues across the United States.
